Who I am
Music bridges people around the world. No matter one’s place of birth, economic class or skin color, it all evokes a human feeling and K’Coneil’s is no different. Born on the beautiful island of Jamaica. music was embedded in his DNA, while education played a major role in the young artist life. After migrating to the United States on a full soccer scholarship where he attained his Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, K’coneil couldn’t deny his musical calling, and while in college, joined up with a group which went on to perform at the prestigious Madison Square Garden, and the rest as they say is history.
Honing his musical craft, by writing and voicing for notable producers, his early singles, “GYAL A YOU” and “ME ONE,” received heavy rotation on various worldwide airwaves, while allowing him to grace stages alongside some of the biggest names in music.
A vocalist influenced by his reggae roots and the musical melting pot of his urban surroundings in New York City, K’Coneil sounds admittedly, doesn’t classify by the industry standards. Rather than to be boxed, he created his own lane, which can only be classified as being “genre fluid,” the ability to float in and out of different genres, in an attempt to create a palette of sonic perfection.”
Summer 2016 saw K’Coneil release his debut “Love/Lust” EP that peaked at #10 on the iTunes Reggae Album charts, and chart on Billboard. Among the hit filled EP, the lead single “Hot Like You” and follow up “Feel So Right” have been blazing the airwaves of major stations worldwide with the respective videos garnering high numbers of views on VEVO and YouTube. K’Coneil closed the year with a successful tour alongside Grammy winning Morgan Heritage, and kicked off 2017 with a Canadian Winter Tour where he filmed the 3rd single off his EP “Loving You Right.” He followed up with “Love How You Whine,” a video filmed in Miami featuring Canadian actress/singer Kreesha Turner that garnered the artist a coveted Canadian Recording Academy Juno award-nomination. He also earned a nomination at the 36th Annual International Reggae and World Music Awards as Best New Performer.
K’Coneil will be steaming up the airwaves of Summer 2018 as he displays his genre fluidity with the release of a sleuth of sizzling singles starting with “Balance” featuring Ghanian Dancehall Superstar Stonebwoy, followed thereafter by “Top Class and “Jook”..
